Solubility Correlations

چکیده

A method is described for estimating solubility by fitting both solute and solvent properties in a single equation. The method is illustrated by examining the solubilities of five rare gases (He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe) and five 6permanent7 gases (O2, N2, CH4, CF4, SF6) in either n-alkane (C5H12 to C16H34) or alkan-1-ol (CH3OH to C11H23OH) solvents. Generally, the correlation (R2) values of the fits achieved were significantly better than 0.9. It is suggested that similar methods can be used for estimating other physicochemical properties such as excess molar volumes and enthalpies of solution.

The correlations between chemical structure properties and antiviral activities of HIV-1 inhibitors: The study of anti-AIDS

In this work, we calculated the several physico chemical properties containing of solubility (byVCL), lipophilicity (by milinspiration), dipole and quadrupole moments (by Density FunctionalTheory) for 7 AZT analogs, and compared these parameters with inhibition assays of them. It isresulted; cytotoxicity of these drugs is related with their lipophilicity inversely. With using of thisresult, for...

Solubility of Methane, Ethane, and Propane in Pure Water Using New Binary Interaction Parameters

Solubility of hydrocarbons in water is important due to ecological concerns and new restrictions on the existence of organic pollutants in water streams. Also, the creation of a thermodynamic model has required an advanced study of the phase equilibrium between water (as a basis for the widest spread muds and amines) and gas hydrocarbon phases in wide temperature and pressure ranges. Therefore,...

Characterization of Asphaltene Using Potential Energy and Nanocalculation

The basics of quantum mechanics and statistical thermodynamics were used to predict the potential energy and intermolecular forces of asphaltene molecules. The parameters associated with the chemical structure were also estimated for a specific asphaltene molecule to predict the Mie potential function. Based on the structural results, a new form of the Virial EOS with Peneloux correction wa...

A Comprehensive Evaluation of Empirical Correlations for Computing the Solubility of Co2 in Water

A new correlation to estimate the solubility of carbon dioxide in water for the temperature interval of geothermal interest (from 25°C to 350°C) is proposed. This equation was derived from a comprehensive statistical analysis applied to an updated thermodynamical database containing experimental solubility data reported in the literature. In addition, it is also presented a useful equation to q...
